A chance for viewers to help me out of my curiosity misery... (or 'Crapaudmatic freely admits he doesn't know everything')....
These flags are flying at St.Aubin. The one on the right is plainly the St.B parish crest, but what the heck is the one on the left?
Would any botanists out there care to tell us what these are, please? September seems to be the season for them. They look jolly poisonous, whatever they are, but it would be nice to put a name to them.
Thanks......

Not a clue about the flag, but the plants you have photographed look like Arum maculatum (loads of them in St Catherine's Woods if you look for them).
Hope that helps,

Thanks Benjamin, one mystery solved!
I'm not sure about the flaf either but the common name for those plants is 'red hot pokers' ;)
Hi Dottie, thanks for commenting.
I'm not so sure about the RHP, I think those are taller things like these? We had some near our place that always seemed to flower early and were never as spectacular as others around the island weeks later. Dead now :)
cheers
It is the flag for the port of Granville to which St Aubin is twinned
Thanks, yes I spotted that on the twinning sign as I drove through today :)
Here's more details.
Thanks!
