At Corbiere

The familiar sight of Corbiere Lighthouse (on the map)...

.. strange to see a flower like this growing in a salty rockpool.

A bunker (on the map), and on the horizon, left to right, we have Jethou, Herm, Sark (centrally), and North-West Jersey.

Le Grouet Slipway (on the map) between Corbiere and Petit Port.

Angling

Little ferry...

.. somewhat larger boat, on a visit to the islands.

From the rocks

La Rocco Tower and the little white house.

Heritage VI - Sous Les Bois

A delightful old Jersey house (NT) in Trinity - (on Google maps)

From the road.

From the driveway

.. closer.

Plenty of history here.

Around the back...

.. and forwards and left.. along the rear of the property...

.. looking back from the courtyard.

One minute the sun was in, making things look dull...

.. and the next minute it was shining nicely, making colours sing.
In this shed...

.. was the kind of thing a more artistic photog would have had a field day with. Old bike and wooden furniture, light and shade, if only I had an ounce of artistic flair.
But no, I'll just snap what the thing looks like.

Long time since I last saw one of these bicycle licence numbers! Please don't believe it should be reintroduced - it wouldn't work.

Occupation relic?

I do find the whole concept of outhouses so grimly fascinating!

Inside then... and this shot was so mucked up, I had to abandon all hope of colour.

Upstairs, and "available light" made the colours leap out from the bedding...

.. whereas a flash blast gives a different look.

Another bedroom.

Tesson Mill water wheel

(continued from yesterday)

There's a public footpath behind the mill (leads to Mt Fallu and Quetivel Mill) from where we see...

.. the courtyard pictured yesterday, with access via steps/railings...

.. to a viewing platform.

Down there on the steps...

.. along here...

(looking back)

.. to the wheel...

.. closer... the wheel in motion.

Info board there...

.. if you can read it :)

Outside, back on the footpath again...

.. looking at the viewing area...

.. and again. Nicely restored, isn't it?

Heritage IV - Tesson Mill

Open day at Tesson Mill where the mill is being converted into flats, but one room is left as a mini-museum exhibit, along with a viewing platform for the water wheel. It was very wet and dull weather, so don't expect great pics with the place looking its best!
(on Google maps)

From the parking field, waiting for the rain to stop.

Stonework.

From the lane by the brook...

.. hoping for a good angle and reflection, but it wasn't to be!

.. closer.

Just inside the property, off the lane...

.. looking back.

Farther in, looking back. In the corner where the people are...

.. a wet display board.

.. or two...

.. left one, for what it's worth...

.. right one, if you can read it.

Inside the single room, and looking to the left...

.. more info panels down there...

.. looking back from there.

A casually grabbed snap of a model in a glass case, with blur. No flash.

Tomorrow, the water wheel outside.
