French (Norman) Market in the Square
From Library Place... what's goin' on 'ere then in the Royal Square...
.. aha, a market from Normandy...
.. great atmosphere, picturesque with a good layout...
.. stalls down each side under the trees...
.. and a central bit too.
.. the pigeon wasn't getting any of these sweeties.
Looking back from by the statue.
Approaching from the Peirson...
I think they did well, it was very busy at times.
There was cheese, take-away food, wines and Calvados, clothes, jewellery and handbags, cakes, biscuits, sweets, and more...
It gave the al fresco pub patrons something different to look at.
Looking through a fruit-n-veg stall.

What a lovely atmosphere, lovely place to have an open air market. We sometimes have them over here but it not the same as they are usually put besides the walls of the shopping centre..no atmosphere at all, could be any stalls set out anywhere. Would rather see them in your setting!
It was good - full marks to the organisers - very nice continental 'feel' to it which was like I was on holiday for a few moments :)
cheers
