Liberty Wharf (Jersey) walk-through

A casual walk-through of the half-deserted shopping center, on a nice day in the Christmas shopping season. Starts from the western end on what used to be a main road, and ends up in Liberation Square opposite the Pomme d'Or.

My roving reporter just held a camera in his hand as if he wasn't filming, hoping not to be noticed. Please excuse some blurry moments due to the stabilisation software used :)

Crapaudvision : 'Fete de Noue' - parade of floats

A parade of recycled Battle of Flowers floats, kitted out for festive effect. On Sunday 13th December at around 6pm this procession ran from the Lower Park area along the Esplanade in St.Helier before fizzling out in the Waterfront region.

Crapaudvision Sport : Rally @ avenue

A bit of rallying for you, as I had all this video clips I thought I might as well glue them together before I delete them. Enjoy, if you like motorsport ...

Crapaudvision - Archirondel Cottage and bunker

A look around an old cottage at Archirondel on Jersey's east coast in St.Catherine's Bay. The property has been government owned for decades and rented out as social housing, but is now being sold on the open market. This is our last chance to have a look around and see the old WWII bunker in the garden, built by the German forces during the island's wartime occupation.

Crapaudvision - St. Helier Harbour

5 minutes of a selection of views of Jersey's St.Helier Harbour quietly going about its business at low tide one sunny late summer evening.

Crapaudvision - St. Aubin views from bunker

Up from the railway walk into woodland we reach an area burnt by a recent wild fire which has made accessible an old WWII german occupation bunker. Good views over the church on the hill, village and harbour. I hope they keep a pathway clear and don't let the gorse regrow to this historic lookout point...

Crapaudvision - A line in the sand

Organised by the National Trust (Jersey), this human chain along the length of the "5 mile" St.Ouen's Bay gave thousands of proud islanders a chance to show how much they care about Jersey's beautiful coastline - and to say "STOP!" to any more overdevelopment that would spoil our gem of an isle.

Well done to all who took part.

Crapaudvision - Jersey Marathon Finish

The scene at the Weighbridge as the first runner crosses the line and the 2nd and 3rd are on their way to the finish....

A slight rush-job - the video was edited and started uploading within an hour of leaving the place... and was viewable while some runners were still on the course. Isn't the Internet Age a wonderful thing? :)

More Crapaudvision - East Coast Scenes

Just testing the new as-broad-as-its-wide-screen HD crapaudcam, it's a little shakey here and there but I wanted to test the overall picture quality in terms of sharpness and colour, smooth motion, how easy it is to edit, all the techy stuff about codecs and bitrates etc.

If I take it more seriously I'll sort the sound out and use a tripod :)
- but I'm quite pleased with how the better shots turned out. At least the skies are blue unlike so many other YT vids where they're slightly green or mauve. The editing is mostly simple, when the NLE behaves itself. I might do more of this from now on and let the photography take a backseat for a while.

Battle of Flowers Night Parade Video

I've finally found a free video editor that does a fair job with my odd format video clips and makes smoothly moving 'HD' by scaling up the 640x480 to 960x720.

See over 8 minutes of night parade clips at www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9oOyVA63xw&hd=1

I won't be using that camera any more for video as I have invested in something properly widescreen HD... :)
