Battle Floats 2013

Not exactly breaking news, but I did take the photos so I might as well share them in case anyone is interested. You still have to admire the work that goes into these creations...

Oops. Not often I get a finger in the shot :)
Obviously I was trying to look like a clumsy amateur, LOL

Battle of Flowers - Floats (misc)

A few things that caught my eye on the floats at the sports field at Bel Royal in the evening... unfortunately the sun wasn't out, so the colours don't zing like they could have...

(and I didn't take any pics in the daytime parade)

Battle of Flowers - Moonlight Parade 2010

As usual it was a far better spectacle in the evening, with more atmosphere. The crowd was actually cheering, waving and dancing a bit - whereas it just doesn't generate the same enthusiasm in the cold light of day.

Well done to everyone. Here are a few bits from some video footage I shot, which I might get around to editing together for the YouTube channel at some point... don't hold your breath though!

By far the best float, the Optimists were "Rollin' on a River" and the whole float was rocking! Brilliant, just brilliant!

Crapaudvision : 'Fete de Noue' - parade of floats

A parade of recycled Battle of Flowers floats, kitted out for festive effect. On Sunday 13th December at around 6pm this procession ran from the Lower Park area along the Esplanade in St.Helier before fizzling out in the Waterfront region.

Fete de Noue Christmas Battle Floats Parade

Here are some frame-grabs from the crapaudvision video (note how much clearer these stills are compared to what I can achieve with the moving footage!).
