La Coupe

New house on the skyline, which has raised plenty of criticism I've heard...
.. closer .. although now isn't the time to complain about it, considering the owner/developer's recent bereavement. Condolences to Ms R.
But you can probably guess what I'm thinking about the Planning Dept., given the number of large developments around the coast prominently on the skyline these days.

La Coupe lookout tower

La Coupe lookout tower up at the north-east corner of Jersey (sat.pic/map). The path is getting very overgrown and closed in, this may be my last chance to take pics for a while.

The post looked fairly vertical at the time, but the coast beyond looks a bit skewed...






Levelled out a bit and brightened at the expense of some white detail.

I did my best to rip out the weeds in there, afterwards :)

Beach : La Coupe

La Coupe ( sat.map ) is a nice quiet little bay in the very north-east corner of the island, reached from a No Through Road lane up near the stables by Rozel manor and the lane to/from Fliquet.



Looking south over Fliquet Bay towards the back of St.Cath's breakwater.







Letting the sky overexpose brings up the brightness of the land a bit.

Down a short slope path from the small parking area, the secluded beach is reached from steps in the concrete sea wall...






.. to the left (car park is up there)...






.. more walls the kids are sure to want to explore behind.


Great beach - if you can park!
