Oops!

Just a quick one today ...

You've got to pity this homeowner on Grouville Hill - it's not even two years since the last accident demolished these gates, and the newly rebuilt entrance has been wrecked again!

Luckily nobody died this time.

I don't know what the proper warning sign description would be, but perhaps the powers-that-be might consider a warning sign something like this?

SLOW DOWN NOW!! might be appropriate as well, as obviously whoever demolished this lot was going much too fast. Who pays for the repairs, the owner of the property or the insurance co?? Either way insurance premiums for someone will go up. Other possible solution..don't build stone gateways, rubber ones made to look like stone would soften the impact and hopefully no injuries.

I was wondering that myself... I thought of putting the gates farther up the driveway, with a "gravel trap" in front, which speeding cars would dig into, but we'd end up with gravel on the road (dangerous on a bend) or people parking there or something... just can't win :)
