Calm day at Havre des Pas

It was pretty good for mid-late October, the pool was like a mirror so I set off with camera to see what I could come up with. Here's the view at La Collette, first...

.. and the new incinerator....

.. from the pool...

.. right here.

First, a moment's silence for the death of the charming seafront at Havre des Pas. This typically Jersey hotel is going to be replaced by a SEVEN storey modern art-deco rehash monster.

But who am I to argue, I'm not the one making money out of it. Instead let's look wistfully out to sea and count our blessings.

The entrance

Outside and in

It's like one of them there "infinity pool" thingies.

Is nowhere sacred?

More next time....

Havre des Pas has a really good place in my memories! As a very young teenager I almost 'lived' there, at the pool and along the promenade, where great coffe bars were to be found! Plus one day I met Jimmy Savile along the prom!!

Thanks so much crapaudmatic, no-one does it better! mwoi mwoi ;)

Your pics of the hotel brought back such happy memories of the one and only time I got my late mother over to the Island (she was scared of flying!)a year before she died as that is where we stayed. I will be sorry to see it go as I always drive past it when we are over on holiday. Please try and let us see the progress of it's sad demise and the grotty(I expect!) replacement. Another blot on the landscape!!
