Walk : Esplanade to the Tunnel

The Liberation Station (ugh!) area in the evening...

.. seems like many years since this was the west-bound route from the tunnel to the Esplanade...

.. looking back, with the bottom of Castle Street in the distance.
Look carefully and there's a sculpture of...

"Jersey Girl" (by artist Rowan Gillespie) dangling above...

.. closer.

And, at night...

.. it's lit in blue from below.

Here's someone else's video of the unveiling, with good old Sadie singing...

Over the multi-lane highway then...

.. to admire the floating gin palaces at high tide...

.. closer.

A high enough tide to raise the old ferry ramp up high.

Towards the Needle.

The marina again...

.. and again.

In the other direction there's not a lot you'd recognise if you left the island in the 80s or before.

The Old Harbour and Commercial Bldgs may look more familiar though.

.. over the water to the yacht club.

The infamous Steam Clock.

The Tunnel. People have complained recently about the lack of lights inside, and it does appear to be very randomly lit!

Misc

As if anyone would buy it!

Actually, politics does prove that there's one born every minute :)

Havre des Pas, and in the foreground a type of bin you don't see so often these days.

Another view

La Collette Gardens...

.. with a view...

.. down Mount Bingham to the end of Green Street...

.. where both the pub and the hotel are now just housing.

Some miles away but still on the south coast, near Corbiere this time...

.. nice day for a spot of fishing.

- or sight-seeing.

A new residence...

.. closer.

Looking up the west coast...

.. and a view from La Pulente.

Evening sun reflects off the granite sea wall...

.. and romance is still possible, apparently... even if I've given up personally :)

Old Harbour and steam clock

Looking along the quayside in a South Pier direction

A bit overdressed for mucking about in boats?

Might catch a boat

Calm waters

Vivid

Steam Clock with RYH in background...

.. closer.

A riot of primary colours...

.. closer.

It's not so bad... :)

.. even if it is a bit of a waste of space and money.

Some people actually do sit there and soak up the atmosphere.

- closer.

Misc

Nice 'muriel' at the entrance to the carpark at Benest's of Millbrook.

A converted lavs cafe in the Parade Gardens.

I bet the tourists are impressed by rusty chains...

.. and frankly dangerous bins...

.. near the Steam Clock.

One for sorrow...

King of the Castle happy hens...

.. and a happy puss on a rug.
