Extreme Low Tide - Les Landes

A great day up at Les Landes, during the lowest tide of the year - less than 1ft. Nice and sunny, and sheltered from the east wind it was T-shirt conditions - which was brilliant for a winter day!


With the tide so low, I don't expect you'd usually see quite so much of the rocks below Le Pinacle...








.. or below the German WWII lookout tower.







There's a vast expanse of rock ...







.. at L'Etacq.







"Stinky Bay"

That's just begging to be tipped over! :)

St.Ouen's Bay - changing light II

The same afternoon as last time, believe it or not - from rain to blue sky.

Looking up at the back of that strange old building at Les Ormes - does it have a military origin or farming, or what?




A new bird hide under construction overlooking the Sand Pits Pond - near the top of the two dunes carparks on the hill.





Thank God for this unspoilt corner of the world!

On the rocks at L'Etacq

Firstly, looking south to the tower at Corbiere.








Guess the deliberate mistake and crude post-processing :)






These rocks are brutal. You really don't want to slip... I knocked my knee at one point and demonstrated that these rocks aren't forgiving :)






Looking back at Le Pulec, the 'stinky bay'...

It was a nice 0.6m low tide, but I couldn't get where I wanted due to loads of rotten seaweed and I'd have needed wellies. Here's a cave that will have to wait until another time.
