Until now I've stuck to Google and avoided Bing for search purposes, and likewise for maps - but now it seems that Bing's aerial views have become significantly clearer than those provided by Google.
Take this view of Petit Port...
maps.google.com
... now check it out in Bing!

And it's more recent, too....
The waterfront hotel is just a building site on Google...
maps.google.com
... here it is in all its glory....

Likewise, Gas Place is still a car park...
maps.google.com
... and now it's a Millennium Park...
www.bing.com/maps/
and kind of the other way around, Ann Place as housing...
maps.google.com
... is now a carpark...

Portelet as it was...
maps.google.com
... and as it is now....

St.Ouen : Snow Goose present, bare field next to Parish Hall:

Other things we haven't seen yet....

I wonder if Google will compete? :)
And we're still waiting for Guernsey Streetview too......
Autumn at the Zoo.

It's dark, damp, there's a chill in the air and the clocks go back. All
those little signs that autumn has clearly arrived.
So when a sunny Sunday arrives ...

Nice find, I wonder when that changed? Bing used to be much worse than Google Maps, now it's impressive. There goes an hour of productivity today...
Both have the same source (Digital Globe), so maybe the Google Maps will be clearer soon. Corbiere is so much clearer, you can see the bunkers finally.
On Guernsey Street View, don't hold your breath. Google intentionally withheld data from various Data Protection regulators in Europe & the USA (including ours here). They've been fined by some and are still being investigated by others. Don't expect much to change until that gets sorted.
Side note: If you use WiFi with WPA encryption + a STRONG password, your data is already safe from this kind of snooping. Check your password strength and improve it at GRC.com.
