Secret Valley - damaged by motorbikes

I was delighted to find a hidden valley on the only section of the north coast not to have a cliffpath. Unfortunately, I found the ground worn smooth by motorbike scrambling.

Along La Route du Nord from the BMX track area by the FarmHouse restaurant to the Ronez Point "loop road" area, there is no cliffpath, sadly - although I'm sure a route could be found. There's quite an area of land down there, as seen on the map. I've been looking for a way down there for some time now, and recently found...

In the carpark near La Fontaine, behind this memorial, near a school bus stop...

.. is a gap in the hedge that I've never noticed before...

(on the map)

.. leading to a very quiet valley with boulder-strewn stream...

.. where the ground is barren due to motorbikes.

It's steep ground with no grip, so it's very difficult to get down without slipping. Easier on the way up though.

Now I'm not going to judge here, I just report the facts as I've found them. It's not a huge area of land spoilt really, and I would probably not have been able to have a look around if it was totally untouched and wild.

Sad to see the usual litter down there, though.

Coves and caves to the east...

.. and the coast down near where the stream meets the sea...

.. closer.

It's a great area of our coast, and I'd dearly love to see a proper foot path through this area, allowing access to this delightful haven of tranquility. If the landowner(s) could be persuaded, it would be well worth doing, the ground isn't so steep that it would be too difficult, I'm sure a route would be possible, even if it had to come back up to the main road before reaching the Ronez quarry area.

An additional benefit would be that it would make the Itex walk even longer, too :)

Lovely valley, if a bit spoilt! I wonder how many locals (other than the bikers!) know of its existence?

I agree, it could be made into a wonderful walk.
