While I wait for YouTube to sort out their upload converter and stop mangling my videos, it's back to photography... or it would be if the weather wasn't so dismal. Luckily I've got a few folders of pics from the last year or so that I never got around to doing anything with, so it's time to trawl back and see if I can remember which ones went unpublished.
This lot is from a sunny evening in October 2008 at Gorey...
Good old red painted mine, Gorey wouldn't be the same without it.
At times like this I wish I had a proper camera to blur the background - public lavs aren't the best backdrop!

Gorey Castle looms over the slipway at the quayside corner.

THANK YOU! Beautiful photos - such soft light :)
I am 'homesick'and i am not even a Bean by birth, wish I was there to see you pics for real. Thank you for these lovely scenes. A
Thanks :)
The rest of my old unpublished pics aren't really worth the effort, except possibly for some that I know I took but can't find right now - grrr!
So it might be a while before anything new appears.
You have a most valuable historic photo archive on Google and I for one would hate to see you give up, as you seem to have been hinting over the last few weeks.
Could you be persuaded to place them all on say Flickr for instance?

Many Thanks FB.
If I do give up, then I won't remove anything, I just won't add anything new. So the pics will remain here for as long as blogger.com keeps going.
At the moment I'm at a point where I don't have the motivation to add new pics as often as I used to, but the small number of appreciative visitors is just enough to keep me going with new material as and when I get around to it.
Anything more than that, considering the size of the audience, is a wasted effort I'm afraid to say... at the end of the day it all depends on whether I'm still enjoying it or not - and whether I've got the free time to do it, and good weather to take the pics in the first place.
If there was ever any danger of my pics vanishing off the internet, I might consider giving anything of historic 'value' to the Societe J's photo archives. However, local bloggers are pariahs apparently, especially any of us who dare to criticise anything in the island in any way, so I'm not particularly keen to put a real name to my online persona!
I just wanted a way to share my joy at being able to enjoy Jersey scenery, without any personal comeback. Blogging appeals to the side of me that likes the idea of publishing, providing information and pics.
It was probably a mistake to use the opportunities that arose to cast a light on any failings of how this place is managed, with comments here or my other 2 blogs, but what's done is done and nothing can be taken back once it's online. If I'm lumped together with other local bloggers who dare to speak out, then so be it, but I don't relish the prospect of any hassle that could come from that. Life's too short. Let's just get on with life :)
Thanks
