Back to St.Brelade's Beach
From Le Coleron battery, we made our way back along the path...
.. to the breakwater.
Pausing to admire this picturesque ramshackleness :)
The new-ish cafe.
A Jersey tower that used to stand alone on dunes...
.. the Ouaisne one still does, give or take an old anti-tank wall.
Well, that's all from that trip to St.Brelades back at the end of September 2008. I hope you enjoyed the pics.

Le Coleron Battery, St. Brelade
At the land end of this breakwater there are steps to a path leading to...
.. an old battery from the 1700s at Le Coleron...
.. part of a pair to defend the bay, the other being above La Cotte cave up there on the left.
Looking east towards St. B's Bay beach...
.. a bit farther left.
Left some more, looking back at the way in...
.. and left again... take your pick between blue sky&sea but dark overall....
.. or a bit lighter with the sky&sea overcooked.
That bay to the west, reached by private road beyond the parish church, is Bouilly Port...
.. home to some of Jersey's more financially secure residents...
.. who can afford rockface, beach and roadway remedial work :)
At the end of the road, this one includes land all the way around the headland to Beauport.
Alright for some, huh? :)

St. Brelades Bay and Breakwater
The beach at St. Brelade's Bay...
.. closer, along the prom.
One of the cafes has been redeveloped.
Looks chilly when the clouds pass over, but it was warm.
The church area at the western end of the beach...
.. an old little breakwater...
.. and a much larger one...
.. right a bit, showing more of Ouaisne and La Cotte in the distance.
Ouaisne Tower, cleanly repainted.
Looking along the breakwater towards Point Le Grouin between the bays.
Nice cat. ...
.. on very calm waters.
That's it for now... views of a nearby battery soon, as reached from steps up from the breakwater.

Giving Berth
Pottering about on Matey's boat, listening to the harbour channel (VHF 14), one hears assorted vessels (like this one, the Victor Hugo) being directed towards "number 1 berth" to "number 5 berth" on the Albert Pier...
.. starting from the Pierheads...
..the berths are where the landing stages are, and there's a white-on-black number painted on there if you look closely...
